Panos from Hellenic Homes took us to see several properties and plots. The last one we saw was in a place called Darmarochori 3km inland from Tavronitis. Panos took us up onto the roof terrace of one of these houses. When we saw the views we both knew that we had found the perfect place to retire in. The views were stunning with hills of olive groves, the White Mountains and the sea. We both fell in love with the place. When Panos told us how much they were going for, it was well within our budget. Panos was very nice, very helpful, there was no pressure to buy, and this is what we liked as well. Hellenic Homes explained the buying procedures, appointed a lawyer and then we left a deposit of 10% of the house price. The rest was to be paid when the property was completed in May 2007. The process was made so easy by Hellenic Homes.
The rest of our summer in Crete was wonderful, we met some good friends, Greek and English, shopped on wonderful markets, ate the most healthiest of foods which were are all grown locally, and of course drank some lovely wines. We then set off for home at the beginning of September knowing we have made one of the best decisions of our lives.
The customer service was very nice too. The next April Hellenic Homes sent us an email with photos, saying the property was complete. For a joke, I told Georgios, for a living I snag houses and apartments, which was true. In England I am a joiner by trade but for the last 20 years I have been a site manager working for a national construction company
building houses and apartments, so I know good standards when I see them.
We have had excellent service from Hellenic Homes throughout the
construction. We were more than pleased with the house and the standard of workmanship in the property.
The overall layout of the site was also great. When it is
all complete it is going to look fabulous.
We wouldn˘t be surprised if it got some sort of award. Over the next couple of days we went shopping for furniture and then moved in to our new Cretan home.
Our dream had now come true.

- Customer-focused service!
We have been to Crete last May and we met with Hellenic Homes and other agencies. Hellenic Homes˘ quality of build was predominant from what we have seen. We were quite impressed. We are very pleased with the service we have received and we are glad to have chosen Hellenic over other developers on the island. In particular, the staff is very polite and customer focused and we feel we have built up a good relationship. We have, also been kept up to date with progress photographs. We chose to buy a stone-built house because it had more character. We loved the location, Provarma is a very beautiful place. We may buy another house to get some rental income. We met our Greek neighbours which was nice. When in Crete we should do our best to become more Cretan than English.
